One of nature's best kept secrets, within minutes of downtown Nashville, Cheatham County offers breathtaking landscapes and a rich heritage. You'll discover clean air, sparkling streams, historical sites and natural beauty. Cheatham Wildlife Management Area offers 20,000 acres of a variety of outdoor recreation including hunting, archery, horseback riding trails, and bird watching.

Exploring by canoe or on foot you'll find some of the most unique man-made features found in nature at the Narrows of the Harpeth River and Mound Bottom. In Ashland City follow the Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail, an innovative rail to trail project. There are ten boat ramp/launches on the rivers in Cheatham County, and many campsites and picnic areas near the Cheatham Dam and Lake.
